Salman, 16, Is Booked In RobberyWICHITA. Kan. C\Pi-A 16-year-old Salina bov is in custody here today, booked on suspicion of armed robbery after the $45 holdup of a liquor store Friday night.Detective Karl Triplett said Ernest C. Downs has admitted the liquor store nbbery.Mrs. Henrietta Stathis, 64, said a youth asked if he could buy a bottle of liquor. Suspecting he was under-age. she told him no, but agreed to change a $1 bill.When she opened the cash register, she said, he produced a pistol and demanded money.A youth later entered a taxicab at the bus depot, but boltedwhen the driver commented he seemed nervous. Downs was arrested a few minutes later.An officer said a pistol wasfound in the bus depot washroom and that money was found stuffed in one of Downs’ socks.
