| Cbas. Stoltenow, a saloon keeper of , Spencer, was tried before a jury in municipal court yesterday on a charge of violation of the state liquor laws and was found not guilty. The complaint was made by those engaged in the same I business in that village. The saloonkeepers of Spencer have a mutual agreement to close their places on Sunday during church hours and it was alleged that on Sunday, January 7th, Stoltenow opened his saloon and allowed people to enter. He set up theplea that he did not sell any liquor, butmerely opened his place to allow churchpeople to come in and get warm, thechurch not being adequate to hold all the people who desired to attend service . that day.
