FRED KEEVER CONFESSES TO CHARGE OF TAKING COAL FROM VANDALIA YARDS.HE WAS WITHOUT AHY WORKAfter a Severe Lecture by Judge Smith the Man was Permitted to Go as no Charge Was Filed.With tears streaming down his face Fred .Keever, 522 Liberty street, confessed before Judge Smith yesterday that he had stolen coal from the Van-dalia coal yards, but stated that he did it because he was out of work and his wife was sick.The man was taken into court by Detective O’Neil, of the Vandalia. Air. Neil said he did not wish to file charges but that ue x*ad brought the man to headquarters in hopes that the practice of taking coal from the railroad yard could be broken up.
