Brown, a dealer in general stores, at New Bethel, were incorrect in some essential particulars. Early that evening Louisa went to church with Chris Wampneer, a farm laborer. About 10 o’clock they returned. Louisa entered at the front door, but Wampneer seemingly went away. For a few minutes she stood near the sitting-room fire. To this Mr. Brown paid no attention. He was in bed in an adjoining room, and, awakened by her entering the house, soon fell asleep. In the meantime Louisa, leaving a candle on a fireproof safe near tbb door leading into the kitchen, went to the outer door of the latter room and let Wampneer in. They remained for an h our or more in the kitchen, without fire or light, except what came through the open sitting-room door. About 12 o’clock a house dog began to bark viciously, and Mr. Brown, aroused, heard footsteps outside. From his bed he could look through the inner door of the kitchen, but it being dark, could discern no one. He heard a movement there, and fired, expecting to hit a burglar, as he has been greatly troubled by this class of thieves during the past two years. The first shot struck the light on the safe, and put it out. The second was made at random, and hit Louisa in the left breast. She made no outcry at the first shot. Her wound is painful. After being shot .she sat up some time while the wound was being dressed, and she is now able to be aboutThe Nevada Concert To-Night.The Emma Nevada concert, one of the mostis aiMfrieiMbrieMfieldPiRefSlt; agai for iH his 1 nooiMtactfineiSt a so corr everIeConbe gnuirM Par] sistc to CMFlorthebridT1tainsonstendpur;Li Lyr brat lead a ha broo the ] serv
