By Mannix PorterfieldREGISTER-HERALD REPORTERA bomb threat, printed crudely on a plate glass door among a smattering of racial slurs, prompted the Raleigh County Commission on Aging to hire private security Tuesday and four elderly women to vacate their overhead apartments.The latest flareup of racist-style graffiti to strike the commission in six months brought both Beckley police and the FBI to the scene.Jacqueline Reid, the 14-year executive director of the commission, said she took the threat seriously after learning of it at 7:10 a.m. from a supervisor.“Enough to call the FBI, and they were here in 90 minutes after I called them,” she said, noting an agent came from Charleston.Sgt. Frank Pack, a city detective, said a uniformed city officer scouted the premises for a bomb, found no evidence of one and turned the investigation over the detective bureau.“Right now, we don’t know what it is,” the sergeant said. “Either it’s somebody just being stupid, or it’s something seriously racial.
