Lowe of Waldron as . cashier of the re-organized Firsi National Bank of Milroy after the consolidation of the two banks there, rumors were rife that Lloyd Nelson, the retiring cashier, was missing from the community and that a shortage was alleged to exist in his accounts.A call to the home of Mr. Nelson elicited the fact that he was not there and members of the family did not know where he could be found. The bank examiners came to the bank Monday afternoon at the time Mr. Nelson left. It was rumored that' he had not been seen since.The rumor concerning a shortage in the accounts had placed the sum as high as $20,000. A member of the board of directors for the bank stated today that if a shortage was found, it •would, not bring any loss to depositors as the bank was fully protected. It was understood that the bank would make a statement shortly but was not ready to discuss the matter today.: Russell Titsworth, prosecuting attorney, stated today, that no call had been made to him for a grand jury investigation into the , affairs of the baiik, but that if there was any foundation for the jsport 4hat the former cashier-was missing and that there was a shortage in his accounts, the grand jury would be summoned.Mr. Nelson was widely known in Rushville having been a former employee of the People’s National Bank here. The bank examiners are still working over the books to determine the exact condition of the accounts.
