EXTRA!DAVID MARTIN DEAD.Life Prisoner From Oskaloosa PassesAway At Anamosa.Scripps-McRae Telegram.Des Moines, Jan. 11.—-A message was received here this afternoon that David Martin, serving a life sentence1 at Anamosa, had died today. He was convicted in Oskaloosa of murdering his wife and hiding her body in a pork barrel in his own house. Martin was raised in slavery. He was 100 years of-age. In earlier years he was coachman to President Andrew Jackson. He never asked for parole and was contented to spend his life in prison.
