On Sunday Sheriff Miller arrested a note that was being exchanged from Hiatt to his sweetheart who was in a cell overhead. There is a hole in the floor of the woman’s cell, and by means of a string the woman would draw up notes from the cell below.The note taken by Miller was the9instrument that probably prevented their liberation. It was just a simple little love token in which Hiatt told his girl to keep a stiff upper lip; that Boles would be around at the proper time and they would again breathethe fresh air of freedom.K * + rAfter taking the note. Miller and his deputy went to the north part of town to arrest Boles. They found him and after considerable difficulty landed him behind the bars. Boles showed fight and once struck the sheriff a tremendous blow and would probably have made his escape had not the stalwart deputy been at hand.While it is not known that Hiatt and Boles are the persons who entered the saloon and depot, yet the officers are firm, in their belief that they have the right parties and efforts will be made to convict them of the charge when they are arraigned.However, the sheriff of Greene county was expected to arrive Monday and Hiatt will probably be taken at once to Jeffersonville te serve out the sentence for the theft of the horseand buggy
