Escaped From liloonifiekl.Hiatt came to trial, and being convicted, was sentenced to a term in the state reformatory for a period of fromtwo to 14 years. It was while awaiting the sheriff’s pleasure in transporting him to Jeffersonville that lie succeeded in making his escape and effecting the liberation of his sweet- i heart.Following iheir escape from the Bloomfield jail it would be hard to trace their movements and there is no certainty as to the number of petty depredations they may have committed in different parts of the cotin -jtrv. However, the next we hear of them was when they made their appearance at the farmhouse of Mike King, west of HtW-S iville. AVhile it is not known V' ley are the parties who rob1'* ~ /lie King home of some $2 0, yet the description of the culprits is strikingly similar to that of the two now in custody.After this escapade they separated and the woman went to Riverton. There she saw a man whom she learned was coming to Sullivan and she asked him to allow her to ride with him. in this manner she caic to this city, m riving last Monday It seems that she had planned to meet her sweetheart here as he came from*Terre Haute, where he went when ,*they separated, to this city Friday I. night on the midnight train.
