A Child Beater.Clarence C. Rush, the 13-year-old son of Melvin Rush, of Nappanee, sought the protectlonof the law in an affidavit against his parent for alleged inhumanely beating, bruising andi wounding him. The defendant was arraigned and pleaded not guilty after which the case was dismissed.Speaking of the case the Nappaneei Advance says: “This man Rush, itseems, has the reputation of beating and pounding humanity and his I record, when a resident in Goshen j some two years ago, shows that he is a man unfit for the care of children, as he was roasted there by by the papers, and virtually driven from! town.” I
