•. rankPleads GuiltyinAuto DeathSOOllA Inn Owen McPherson, 28, of Traverse City yesterday pleaded Etnlty to a charge of negligent homicide in the September 17 death of Gaylord O. Holmes, 31, or Tustin TZ. 2 in an automobile accident on Garfield road.The case was referred to the probation officer by Judge Charles JBrown after the plea in Grand Traverse circuit, court, where a jury trial of McPherson had been scheduled to start, today.According to police reports, McPherson was driver of a car which sideswiperj one driven by Darrell Leonard Holmes. 21, of Tustin and in which Gaylord Holmes was a passenger. The small, foreign-make. Holmes vehicle overturned in the mishap, which occurred; ^0|s about 2:30 a.m. three miles south of Traverse City limits.The two drivers were treated at Traverse City hospitals for serious injuries, but a second passenger in the Holmes car and four passengers in the McPherson vehicle suffered only minor injuries.
