QUICK WORKBlack Boe’ft Grocery Burglarized Last Eight.*•AEatalial Grtfiltli Discovers the Knt-(flar uud Has Him Behind the Bars This morning.This morning the attend anta at the grocery store of Black Roe, upon openingthe store as QBual, discovered that the premises had been entered and burglarized during the night. Mr. Black immediately telephoned to the city prison, to Marshal Griffith, who at once responded te the call. Upon the Marshal's arrival at the store, he was informed ot the facts in the case. On making inquiries, the Marshal discovered that among others one Louis Richey, better known as“Frenehy, was seen about the premiaea'late last evening. With this faint cine the Marshal went to work to ferret out the thief, if possible. In perambulating the streets this morning, Marshal Griffith espied Richey enteringthe grocery store of J. M. Browne The Marshal followed Richey and took hiia in charge. TJj-on searching Richey, a lot of small change was found m his possession;, also some cutlery, which was identified as the goods stolen from Black Roe. The Marshal escorted Richey to the city prison and locked him up. Btehey will have his hearing before Mayor Nichols this afternoon. This is a very neat job of detective work by the Marshal, who is always on hand whenever there is any work of this kind to be looked after. The citizens of Newark should be proud of possessing such tt faithful and efficient officer ss Marshal Griffith.
