HOOSICK FALLS — A hoteland a grille here were unsuccessfully “raided” late Sunday morning by state police in “an i investigation relative to the alleged sale of alcoholic bever ages” during illegal hours, troopers revealed last night. jIn each case, not enough evi- j dence was obtained to bring ac- j tion, Tpr. Norman Scott reported. (Sunday sales of alcoholic! beverages between 3 a.m. and 1 p.m. are prohibited by law in the State of New York.)Three troopers, acting on complaints received at the Eagle Bridge barracks, moved in at 11:15 a.m. on Dougherty’s Hotel,9 Main St., and on Salluzzo’s Grille, 24 Classic St.At Salluzzo’s, Tprs. Scott and Glen Davis found the door locked and, although they observed from outside the building an unreported number of persons being served, they said, no evidence of liquor sales was obtainable upon a “somewhat delayed” entry'.The persons observed from outside were not present in the gride after entry had been gain-, ed, Scott said. jTpr. R. E. Setzer moved in on Dougherty’s Hotel, but could find no evidence of illegal liquortransactions there.Scott said each establishmenthad definitely “been tipped off.” jHe contended that violations were taking place minutes before the “raids.” IDougherty’s Hotel is owned by iGeorge Dougherty and Salluz-zo's Grill by Anthony Salluzzo.
