German Woman Killed In TheftHEIDELBERG, Jan. 7 (SS— Two U.S. Army guards of the, 548th Ord. MAM Co. in Mannheim, fatally wounded a German. woman and captured her male companionwhen, they were found stealing woodand cement Monday, Constab. Hq. reported today.' fThe' guards, T/5 Kenneth Day and T/5 David Brannon, discovered George Griud, a German employe, passing stolen material through a barbed wire fence to the woman, Hedwig Milderbrach. When the soldiers challenged them the pair fled. After firing two shots in the air the guards fired five more iinjes, two of the shots striking, the woman in the breast and abdomen. She, died in a Mannheim hospital.
