—It will be a matter of deep regret to Jefferson acquaintances of Wilbur Laid ley, son of Rev. and Mrs. Laidley, formerly of this city, to know that he has become involved in trouble regarding his accounts as postmaster at Bancroft, Iowa. The Algona Republican says of the matter: “DeputyUnited States Marshal D. E. Phelan, of Fort Dodge, visited Bancroft Monday and arrested Postmaster Wilbur F. Laidley, and took him to Fort Dodge on a charge of defalcation. The shortage in his accounts it is stated was not large.
