Police Car Rammed; Officer Injures BackMarkham police arrested a Harvey driver last Saturday after his car slammed into the rear of a police vehicle, injuring the driver, patrolman Charles Hollensed, 43, of 16463 Hillcrest in Markham.Hulin McKinney, 38, of 185 West 156th street in Harvey, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, damaging village property,driving too fast for conditions and driving without a valid driver license.McKinney was released on $200 bond for an appearance in Circuit court in Markham February 23.• • •HOLLENSED was treated fora back injury at Oak Forest hospital and released. Hollensed had not returned to duty early in the week.The injured policeman reported he spotted McKinney's westbound vehicle coming up behind him at a high rate of speed on 159th street near the west end of the Illinois tollway overpass. He said he increased the squad car’s speed to 60 miles an hour but wa* unable to avoid being hit in the rear.Officer Hollensed added he could not veer his vehicle out of the path of McKinney’s car because of other traffic on 159th street. The squad car was slammed forward 600 feet after the collision, police said.
