Wm Bile* assaulted and battered one Ad. Stinton, for which little offense twelve men agreed that he should increase tbo common school fund tweuty'tive dollars.Elijah Dean, a man and brother, was also arrested, during the holidays, for an attempt to violate the person of a white woman.Iteasip Weir, the heretofore invincible, was arrested on las* Saturdtj, and now rests in the Sheriff's house. The charges against him are two assaults and batteries, straight, and one with intent to commit murder.On Saturday morning last, the large wagon factory and blacksmith shop bo longing fo S. E. Kcrcheval, in Grandview, was consumed by fire, together with several smaller buildings. The buildings and material were partially insured.Loas $5,000.
