Six people chargedwith sexual assaultBy The Examiner staffSexual assault charges were filed this morning in Jackson County Circuit Court against six people in five unrelated cases, police said.• Thomas L. Shevlin, a 41-year-old accountant, of 711 W. Truman Road, is charged with three counts of sodomy for a single incident occurring in October 1989 in Independence, police said. The victim is a 13-year-old boy, police said. Shevlin’s bond is set at $15,000.• Catherine Schornhorst, 35, of 919 S. Pleasant Ave., is charged with one count of sexual abuse involving a single incident with a 6-year-old Independence boy, police said. Her bond is set at $5,000.• Jessie Schornhorst, 42, of 919 S. Pleasant Ave., is charged with three counts of first-degree sexual abuse and three counts of sodomy in incidents occurring over a period of 1*6 years, police said. The incidents involved two boys, 6 and 10 years old, police said. Bond is set at $22,500.• Kenneth R. Schull, 39, of 1018 Smith St., was charged with one count of attempted sexual assault, one count of deviate sexual assault in the first-degree, two counts of sexual abuse in the first-degree, and one count of sexual abuse in the third-degree, police said. The incidents, involving a 14-year-old girl, occurred over lMs years, police said. Bond is set at $12,000.• Dane A. Harrison, 35, of 4950 North Chelsea in Kansas City, was charged with two counts of sodomy and one count of first-degree sexual abuse to a 10-year-old girl, who was the daughter of a friend, police said. A $35,000 bond has been set.• Birl Ewing, 56, of 2020 S. Crysler Ave., is charged with one count of sodomy in a single act involving a 9-year-old girl, police said. Bond is set at $10,000.
