Shasta, Cal., as companion of “Baby Face’' Nelson in the gun battle at Barrington, 111., in which Nelson and two federal officers were slain, Sally Backman. above, of Sausallto, Cal., declared she would remain loyal to the captive. Chase was removed to Chicago under heavy guard.
