3 AY, JANUARY 5, 192HARRY HYDE ARRESTED.Charged with Robbing Three Houiei in Gtinei on December 18.Harry Hyde, of Corning, was ar-1 rested in Corning Thursday night on the charge of being implicated in the burglary of three homes at Gaines, PaM on December 18. He is being held pending extradition.Sheriff F. S. Husted, of Welisboro, went to Corning with' the warrant for the arrest of Hyde, and also war- j rants for the arrest of two others, i said to have been companions of I Hyde in the burglary, says the Leader. According to the police Hyde and one of his companions had been staying at a hut'maintained by Grant , Mattes op near Elk Run. It is aaid | the men made this their headquar- [ ters temporarily. Matteson lives at 'l Gaines, .The men are charged with entering the home of Norman Strait at Gaines ; and also the Gillespie homestead, j The warrant sets forth the following list of articles stolen, the amount be- ! ing.enough to prefer the charge of ( grand larceny against them: 300 feet 11 of copper cable, $100; six chickens, I $10.50; three pairs rubber boots, $G; | 30 copper tubes, $10; one barrel of « cider, §30; an iron bed, $15; turkish towels, $15; linen centerpieces, $5;! two linen towels, 1, and two silver ! teaspoons, $4. iThe Sheriff recovered all of the loot with the exception of the iron ] bed and some of the copper, at the junk shop of P. Webber at Galeton, j where the men had taken the stuff! i When Mr. Webber refused to buy f the copper they hid it nearby.
