Death of Girl Proves Puzzle.Elk Falls, Kan.—A reward for the arrest of Don Britt an was offered by Klk county officials after a coroner’s Jury had relumed a verdict that Brit-tan had caused the death of Miss Maude Bingham, bis sweetheart. The two went buggy riding Sunday afternoon. Nov. La to at night he returned to the home of his stepfather, Burr Reynolds, a fanner, and shouted: “Come quick, Maude has fainted. .Miss Bingham was round crouched down in the buggy dead. Brit tan disappeared after explaining that the girl had become HI after eating candy. An autopsy, held the next morning, disclosed the girl’s condition. A sample , of the candy was analyzed but found j ( to contain no poison. The coroner's j jury hold that death was due to chlo- i ‘ roforrn.
