What to do with convict labor is a question that several States have attempted to solve but with poor success. The last legislature in Ohio passed a law requiring all goods made by convict labor to be labeled as convict made. This resulted in the boycotting of the goods to such an extent as to cause many contractors to quit the business, and in consequence of this, the prison has run behind this year $73,-134, and hundreds of convicts are in the idle house.
