More of llie Oxford Freezing;.)Jjast week The Express gave all the details ifc had at hand of the death of the little Vozenilek boy, who was believed to have frozen to death, and the drunken condition the parents were found in. The Wyoming Journal editor made a personal investigation of the condition that has shocked the county, and we herewith present his report:We called on Dr. Kent, who, on Saturday last, was called by the trustees of Oxford township to go to the home of Frank Vozenilek and look after conditions there.MOn arriving at the home, Dr, Kent found a woman lying on a bed with her feet and head partially covered, with a light feather tick. The woman was in a highly intoxicated condition. On another bed were two children. Theyouugest, a babe about two weeks old, wrapped in a shawl. It had its thumb stuck in its mouth and was evidently contented and entirely oblivious of its surroundings. The other was a boy about two years old, bqt he was dead*, and evidently had been dead two or three days.man was sitting in a chair by a stove in which there was no fire. He was in a beastly state of intoxication and possessed of an ugly disposition. When questioned about the dead boy he said that a doctor from Monmouth bad been called to treat the boy and he said he was suffering with pneumonia. Medicine was found in the house.*lt;Dr. Kent said he could not tell whether the boy died from starvation, freezing or pneumonia, but no doubt a combination of the three causes named above brought about the death of the little fellow.* lt;The baby was placed in the hands of a motherly neighbor to be cared for until the mother sobered up.•With the help of neighbors and friends the littie body of the dead boy was taken care of and prepared for burial. Funeral services were held Monday morning.”
