MIRT CLARK SUED.\’Alonzo Howell Wants $10,000 For Being Used as a TargetThe law firm of Miller Pike of Clinton filed a ten thousand dollar damage sui* on the Vermillion circuit eourt last week in which Alonzo Howell, son of Berry Howell of Helt townsip, is the plaintiff, and big Mirt Clark, the owner of the celebrated Bee Hive in Highland is the defendant. The complaint alleges that on Sept. 17, 1910, Elijah Ekvell and Mirt Clark became involved in a quarrel. After quarreling a few minutes Ehvell returned with shot gun and attempted, to kill the defendant; that he caught the plaintiff and wrongfully and wil- ! fully pushed him in front of the gun, the shot from said gun striking and injuring the plaintiff in the shoulder, breast, neck, chin and hand. As a; result, the complaint continues, the left arm, wrist and hand are paralyzed and useless and that he is permanent* j j ly scarred and disfigured. That he! : suffers in mind and body and is un-1 I able to perform manual labor. Says for nurse hire, doctor's bills and hospital bills he has expended $200, and I he thinks it will take $10,000 to make 1 his as good a man as he was before.Circuit Clerk M. C.
