The apartment was not broken into, and nothing appears to be missing. “The apartment was extremely neat and clean, Connellan said.Miranda, Crossman’s boyfriend, also is not a suspect. He has been in the Justice Center jail since Dec. 10 on assault and weapons charges resulting from a fight. Brown also was charged in that fight but made the $1,500 bail and was freed last week, jail records show.Crossman was trying to raise bail money to free Miranda, a neighbor said.Robbie Williams said Cross-man stopped by his apartment last week to sell some DVDs of old honor movies. Williams said he declined to buy any of the discs.Crossman mentioned that she was trying to sell Miranda’s car, he said. The car is gone, Williams said, but he didn’t know if she got any money for it.The last time Williams saw Crossman was Friday evening, he said. He was leaving in liis car and she was standing at the end of the driveway, waiting for a ride, he said. Connellan said Crossmari was with her family Friday night.Williams said he had gone out Saturday night, returning home after 10 p.m. He didn’t hear any noise from the apartrnenL and didn’t know anything had happened to Crossman until the police knocked on his door early Sunday.Crossman’s phone had been disconnected, said Christina Myrick, who lives at 309 Columbus Ave. Crossman stopped by Myrick’s home Wednesday to make some telephone calls. Myrick said she didn’t know Crossman well and doesn’t know whom she may have, called. Police spoke to Myrick and retrieved the numbers that Crossman called.Crossman had planned to meet her three children, siblings and stepmother Saturday night at a Safe New Year's Eve parly at Brown Memorial United Methodist Church.Crossman’s father and stepmother, Edward and Esther Crossman, have custody of two of Sue Ann Crossman’s three children. The oldest child lives with his father.Crossman graduated from Fowler High School but never held a job. She received disability payments for physical and mental disabilities, her family said.Deborah Last, 31, a cousin and close friend o: Crossman, said she worries tlic disability payments may have been a factor in Crossman’s slaying.“She picked up her disability check Friday from (Edward and Esther Crossman), Last said. “She was also hanging around with a new crowd none of us knew very well.”Last, along with much of Sue Ann Crossman’s family, was at Edward and Esther Crossman’s Menimun Avenue home Monday to grieve Sue Ann’s death.Last fondly recalled Sue Ann as “a homebody who didn’t go out to the bars much.” Sue Ann loved music — particularly RB and hip-hop — .and was a niovie buff who ranked Ray,” the 2004 movie about musician Ray Charles, as her favorite film. She also loved to draw and held a degree from Central Tech in flower arranging. Last said.Esther Crossman said most of the family was holding up well, but the mystery of Crossmatrs death was eating away at them.It’s going to be hard for her father Thursday when they bury her, Esther Crossman said. “He had to buty bis son 13 years ago, after he drowned, she added, referring to the 1992 drowning of Edward Crossman Jr., 16, in the Seneca River.Sue Ann Crossman did not regularly attend services at Brown Memorial but would come on special religious holidays, said the Rev. Betty Morey. “The kids came,” with their stcpgrandmother, she said. “U’s a really sad thing,” Morey said of Sue Ann Crossman. “She wax just overburdened by her own problems.
