Atwood, who since last June ha* been awaiting trial i Jail on a charge of murder in shooting to death Dr. Wilfred E. Harris, pleaded guilty to murder tn the eecond degree and was sentenced to life imprisonment in the state prison.Atwood was the . fiance of Dr. -Celia P. Adams, who committed suicide by swallowing corrosive sublimate on July 18. He was said to have accused Dr. Harris of having betrayed the young woman. With a revolver he shot Harris at the tatter's office.Atwood did not move a muscle as sentence was Imposed, leaning against the rail In a careless manner and absently tapping, the sail with one hand.
