OLD JAIL TERM MUST BE SERVEDa136a!id it*U leu i DALE WHISLER TO BE RE TURNED TO MEN'S REFORMATORY.e,ald-t-it-1H ill 9, id if? n ee-en's. | O I l I• I n,Bia jitailr i ri-i.bDale Whisler of Ottumwa has no j statements of optimism to make as the year 1932 gets under way. Wliis* | ler completed a term of years in the men’s reformatory at Anamosa e week ago. but is being returned to the institution to spend this ami probably several new years. On January 14. 1926, the Ottuin* wan was indicted on the charge of grand larceny, in April he was con-| victed of the crime in a local court.1 and in May was sentenced to Ana j most for a terra not to exceed five years.Whisler appealed the conviction and whs released under bond. Before the appeal could be heard, however, the man visited Appa-. noose county, was arrested on another charge of larcenv. and was again convicted and sentenced to Anamosa. This time the Ottumwan went to prison. The irony of Whisler’s situation came, however, when the appeal on the Wapello charge was dismissed and a mittimus ordered for his imprisonment. If the mittimus had been delivered to him at the* some time sentence was pronounced in Appanoose county he. could have served both terms concurrently. The order for his imprisonment on the Wapello county charge was not filed until today, however, near ly five years too late to do the Ot* turn w an any good.
