IDER JANUARY 1, 1925ECKHARDT HASBEATS CHANGEDNEW YEAR’S DAYOfficers Shifted Around— To Increase Efficiency of Department.As a Year’s gift to the police department, Chief of Police Louis Eckhurdt made a complete change in placing of officers.All police oq beats on the east side of the city were changed over to beats oa the west sfile and*vice versa. Officers who have been driving emergency cars and the ambulance were shifted around to different shifts and some were given beats.“The ^change*’, said Chief Eck-hardt, *1s for the betterment of thepolice department. These changes are not made to reflect on any officer in any manner but are made solely for the purpose oS having them get acquainted with the different beau and increase the efficiency of the department.At present the officers will work as follows: The shirt from 7 a. m. to 3 p. m., Sergt. Thompson, desk: Sampson, operator: Carroll, east; Bishop, west, Sandford, Hoyt, Kaiser and Jurgens, ham; Gerdts and Sciilueter, emergency cars; Snider, motorcycle: HenncHy, Brady toLeClairc streets; Gubser, Brady street to Ripley; Holser. Ripley street, west; Kluegel, East Davenport: Connote. Northwest Davenport; and Robertson, Northeast Davenport. * On the ? p. m. to 11 p. nu «Shift, Sergt.
