A Wright Wrong.Wm. Wright, of near Chili, was brought before* Mayor Zern Friday evening charged with assaulting Chris Leets with intent to kill. After a preliminary hearing Wright was bound over in the sum of §100 to await the action of the circuit court. Failing to get bond he was committed to jail.Leets is the saloon keeper of Chili and it was in his place that the trouble originated. Wright who was a little intoxicated was very quarrelsome and when ordered out of the place resisted and wanted to fight. Leets picked up a poker and used it effectively upon the back of Wright who was driven from the room to the street. He here retrenched himself and hurled several boulders through the windows, demolishing the furniture and hitting one man on the head. Leets who is selling under a government license testifying that Wright was drunk when he sold him liquor. Wright evened up at the conclusion of the preliminary by filing an affidavit against the saloon keeper for selling liquor to a drunk man. Leets had to plead guilty and paid $19.40.
