Parolee sentenced to dieDALLAS - A state district court jury today sentenced a 25 -year-old prison parolee to death for the slaying :f lawyer Fred Finch.Jurors deliberated 35 minutes before deciding shortly before noon that Kenneth Thomas should die for the slaying. Jurors convicted Thomas three days ago in the stabbing attack.Authorities arrested Thomas last March, two days after F inch and his 64-year-old wife, Mildred, were found stabbed to death in theirhome.Chief Prosecutor Norman Kirme said he is pleased with the ruling and jurors could have made only one (decision in view of the evidence.“It ought to I;e quite obvious. He went over and broke into thei.r home at night,” Kinne said.A defense attorney said that the sentence could be appealed, frie said other lawyers would be appointed to continue the appeal.A psychiatrist who examined Thomas characterized him as a brain-damaged high school dropout who could lead a near-normal life if proper sup ervision and medical treatment were provided.
