Psychic(Continued From Page 1A)would find a barrel and a brick with a rope tied to it,” said Dennis Lundy, commander of surveillance for the private security firm. “And the divers did find that the first time they dove (7 years ago), but they did not find the body.”Mangum returned to the Aiken area and on Sunday, guided the divers to a point 70 feet off the bank of Langley Pond where he said the body of Jeremy would be found.“He showed us a spot about 70 feet off the bank, straight down,” Lundy said. “And he said if we go down we’d find a ledge. The first thing they (the divers) found when they went down was a ledge. He also said there was a hole about 20 feet deep and they also found that.”Mangum also claimed that hehad worked with Aiken County Coroner Sue Townsend on the case. But Sue Townsend said she has no recollection of meeting or speaking with Mangum.“I’m having trouble when he’s saying we have discussed this and I can’t find any notes on it,” Ms. Townsend said. “I’m not going to put the man down, I just do not remember working with him.Ms. Townsend also said that she had called an Augusta hotel where Mangum is supposedly staying, but Mangum has not returned her calls.Ms. Townsend did not dispute or validate the merits of using a psychic on criminal investigations.“I wouldn’t begrudge anyone trying to find that child by whatever means they could use,” Ms. Townsend said.
