Yeiser got away, but in doing so received a bullet wound in the back of the neck,: the ball glancing from the sidewalk, the officer not desiring to kill him. He was found later when it was; found that his wound was not a serious one, being nothing more] than an abrasion.The Hate City of this morning says: jEvery effort will be put forth to send Yeiser back to the penitentiary at Fort Madison, for the police fear that sooner or later he will kill some one. Just a few weeks ago he attempted to kill William Keefe, a bartender in the Tumelty saloon at Fifth i and Johnson street, and the worst he' got \sas an opportunity to get out of town. He remained away until 11:47 o'clock Monday night, having arrived . here from Mount Pleasant, he said, and he was not in town an hour until he was in trouble again.The case against him seems to be a clear one. as there are plenty of j witnesses to testify to the attack on , George Wittich with a knife.
