Upset Ruling on C.R. NightclubBy a Staff WriterCEDAR RAPIDS, IA. - Dis-t r i c t Judge Harold Victor Thursday ruled the city council here acted illegally in the 60-day suspension of the beer permit of The Meeting Place Jan. 20.Victor ruled that making such a suspension without notice or hearing was legal but“manifestly unfair.” The judge ruled that the reasons the council gave for the suspension had nothing to do with the regulation and control of the sale of beer — therefore illegal., Reasons given for the suspcn-jsion were that dancers at the establishment sometimes wore •fewer clothes than police thought they should and that the operator permitted a convicted felon — Joseph Abodeely — to play drums with a band.Abodeely, owner of the Unique Motel which houses TheMeeting Place, had leased the nightclub to Kay Bronkest. Abodeely is free on appeal bond pending a U.S. Supreme Court decision on his five-year sentence in connection with an alleged abortion ring.5(cr.SWISS HEAD ILLBERN, SWITZERLAND (AP) —Swiss President Rudolf Gnaegi was hospitalized Thursday following a slight heart attack, government officials announced.annuj'eiofCOmstifO!at
