Andrew Palmer testified as follows: I re-lid* Id this city, and am a druggist; have seen prisoner; I do not know that I ever sold him poison; his name is not in my register; I keep a register of names of those to whom 1 sell poison., Cram Examined—Have aoid arsenic to Irish-Seen for the purpose of killing rats; I have sold (o them frequently; I remember a call of an Irishman for aome areenlo to kill rats with; I remember that It was an Irishman; I sold him areenlo; he asked me how to use it; it was several weeks ago*—three to six weeks ago; should Judge it was not over six weeks ago; think I inquired where he lived; he said be lived on east side of the river; I told him on using it tospread it on bread or butter or on anything theywere destroying in the oellar, and to put it in tfoeir holes; I knew the man but did not knowhis name; do not wish to be understood «hat prisoner was not that man.fie direct—At that time I did not keep a regular.Orate Examined—My register was commended a short time alter this transaction; should think the first entry wa made about the 10th Inst.I
