Loses Arm in Mill Accident At AllenportAn accident at the Allenport fplant of the Pittsburgh Steel Co. Wednesday afternoon cost Ferdinand Brassart, of Belle Vernon, R. D., his left arm.Acoording to reports. Brassart, a foreman in the Pilger stockyard, was setting the brake on a railroad car. While doing so, a section of pipe in a loaded car protruded beyond the end of the car and caught Brassart between the pipe and another car.Fellow workmen said they called to Brassart and he was able to move his body out of the way.Taken first to the mill hospital, Brassart was then rushed to the Charloroi-Monessen Hospital for immediate surgery. It was found at the hospital that his left arm had been injured so badly that amputation was necessary.Brassart’s condition today was described as “fair’ by hospital attaches.
