Kidder Marriage Ordered Annulledt Ca.M* Aired In Circuit Court Herei i Circuit court records Thursday morning held the latest chapter in ; the much-discussed Kidder case • epic, as Mrs. Dean Ladd Kidder.listed as a widow and housewife of ; 2425 Mam street, obtained an an- nulment of her marriage to Ross Hastings, recorded as a former (tree surgeon of Calumet City. III.Hastings, whose present address is the county jail, is being held for trial in the April term of circuit court on charges of obtaining money from Mrs. Kidder under false pretenses.They were married Oct. 22. 1943 at Pekm, III., the same day Hastings and his former wife. Rose Mi- . ciak. were divorced at Peoria. 111. • Witnesses at the Kidder-Hastings | marriage were Miss Miciak andOwen McCabe, partner of Hastings in the tree-trimming business. Charges FraudIn her annulment complaint, { Mrs. Kidder charged that she was Jinduced to enter into the marriage 1through fraudulent representa- . tions and accounts of the defendant.”These fraudulent accounts consisted in part, the complaint continued, of Hastings representing himself as a single man: of his conspiring with his wife, whom he had installed in Mrs. Kidder's home as [ her maid, to defraud Mrs. Kidder out of her property; and of the pair’-. conspiracy, without Mrs. | . Kidders knowledge, to procure a divorce at Peoria and. on the same day, transport Mrs. Kidder to Pekin where a form of marriage ceremony” was performed.The plaintiff, Mrs. Kidder, further added that she did not learn of! these fraudulent accounts” until .
