Anti Hovnc 'jHilof Soeieti**«We publish tculay an account of the op*eratious of the Johnstown Anti-Horse Thief Society, one of the many organize ttona of that sort which exist in Rock county. The history of other societies in the county would giro almost parallel results from their operations, which show them to be the most effective co-operative organization in our midst. Janesville should profit by the experience of the rural towns surrounding tt and establish at onco a protective society against tho operations ofthe thieving gentry who make frequent descents upon the stables withiu our city. The system might be still further perfected by a county organizition, each society to act cither iadopendenlly or in conjunction with the general organization, as the exigencies of the case might demand. A standing reward ottered by the board of supervisors would facilitate the capture of thieves aud help pay the expenses of excursions for that purpose.
