Cargo Halts Wimberly's TransferSANTA FE (AP) — The State Police Board is going to review the case of State Police Capt.Hoover Wimberly in Albuquerque, Gov. David Cargo said today.“After talking with Chief JohnBradford, I have intervened inthe matter,” Cargo said.The board is to study the conflict of interest charge and dis-, ciplinary action against Wimberly who was placed under a 10-day suspension and ordered transferred to Las Vegas.Chief Bradford took the actionagainst Wimberly after reporting Wimberly was involved in apparent conflict of interest when he loaned $3,000 to a StatePolice mechanic, Marvin Harper. The money reportedly was used to help finance a service garage in Albuquerque where repair work has been done on State Police vehicles.Wimberly’s suspension ends March 2.Cargo’s office announced today that Wimberly will remain in Albuquerque for the present.Cargo’s order also changed, at least for the time being, the planned transfers of Capt. Jerry Brunk from Gallup to Albuquerque to replace Wimberly, and Capt. Frank Lucero to Gallup from Las Vegas to replace Brunk.-
