Jacques.Allen once worked for the Mosslers and Mrs. Mossier assured him as he retreated from the courtroom. We know you wouldn't do anything to hurt us.”“He’s scared to death, the blonde Mrs. Mossier said.Allen took the witness stand in a defense effort to discredit the testimony of Edward Bart Diehl, a carnival worker with a police record of at least a dozen convictions.Diehl had claimed Powers offered him $5,000 to $10,000 in 1962 to kill Mossier with Mrs. Mossier nodding agreement to the proposition. Diehl testified lor the state that Allen overheard at least part of the proposal.Allen testified for the defense that he worked for the Mosslers as a handyman at their aaddlehorse ranch near Galveston.
