Police BlotterOver the weekend, Farmington police arrested seven motorists on charges of driving while intoxicated - two after accidents with injuries. Nine criminal damage to property complaints were investigated, five disorderly conduct arrests were also recorded, along with several burglaries and petty larcenies.Not included on that list was a case involving a 13-year-old boy who told police he was walking home about 5 p.m. Saturday in the vicinity of 35th and Melrose Street when three people fired five to eight rifle shots over his head.Holloway said the three people ducked behind some bushes, and he ran from the scene. A police officer investigated the scene of the incident but was unable to locate spent cartridges.Police charged Alvin Chavez, 18, of 2503 South Side River Road, with aggravated assault after investigating an incident in the parking lot of the Office Bar, 1809 E.Main. The report said that about 2 a.m. Sunday, Chavez hit Jose Viilarial with a car jack handle after he reportedly refused to buy beer for the suspect. Officers noted that Vil-larial was bleeding from a large cut on his head.Those arrested for driving while intoxicated included Peter Russell, 30, of Ship-rock, who was cited after his car veered off Carlton Avenue about 450 feet north of the Old Bloomfield Highway and crashed in a ditch. Lorraine Russell was also reported to be injured in the accident about 3 a.m. Saturday.«rDennison Tsosie, 20, of 1030 W.Main, was injured when the car he was driving ran off the roadway on Main and Giles Avenue about 4 a.m, Saturday and crashed. He was cited for DWI. A passenger in the car, Bobby Tsosie, was also injured in the accident.Also arrested for DWI were: Wilfred Redhouse, 18, of Shiprock (he was also charged with disobeying an officer): Dale Andrews, 31, of 1812 Hutton; Gordon Martin, 20, of Kirtland (he was cited for a second offense of leaving the scene of an accident); Harry Chavez, 21, of Farmington; and Joe L. Madrid, 25, of I*eadville, Colo.Richard Cleaves of 1008 Fairview Ave. reported that tools valued at $2,000 were taken from his garage about 11:30 p.m. Sunday.Smoak Chevrolet also reported the theft of tires valued at $960 from a car wash building on Main Street about 10:40 p.m. Saturday.Police are investigating four criminal damage to property incidents involving silver spray paint that took place at 2:45 a.m. Monday. The F'armington Community Health Center building, 1001 W. Broadway, was sprayed, as was a car parked in the north parking lot of Britts, a wall of the Westerner Motor Inn, 903 W. Main, and a stop sign.A restroom door was forced open in the Civitan Park sometime between 5p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday, resulting in about $125 damage, according to a police report.Andrew Frye, 29, of 930 E, Main, was cited for disorderly conduct and driving with a revoked or suspended license about 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the downtown business district after he reportedly “used foul language and made agressive moves toward officers.”Kee Y. Brown, 18, of Bland-ing, Utah, was also charged with disorderly conduct after he ran from an officer investigating an altercation at the comer of 20th Street and Schofield tiane about 6:30 p.m. Saturday, according to a police report.David H, Bassett, 31, of Bloomfield, was also arrested for disorderly conduct Sunday after officers said they saw him attempting to steal light bulbs outside the Hutton Plaza, the report said.Western Bank's Staff PromotionWestern Bank has announced the election of Jeffrey Howie as assistant •*cashier and credit manager.Howie joined the bank in August 1980.
