Freak Four-Car Accident Here'A stalled car broughi ; I about a four-car collisior There in which a driver re i ceived minor injuries anc i two cars received majordamage Thursday afternoon.City police said the unusual collision occurred at 4:52 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Salem Road and Warren Avenue.Officers said an eastbound car driven by Loren K. Stull, 56,1000 Warren Ave., stalled on Warren as the car reached Salem Road.Stull got out of the car,opened the hood and tried to get the car started again.A car driven by Addison F. Sharpe, 24, 915 Conger Ave., approached the Stull car from the rear and started to pass it.At that time, a northbound pickup truck driven by Michael A. Murphy, 31, 1809 Lambert St., approached the intersection on Salem Road and made a left turnonto Warren.Noticing that the Sharpe car was coming around the Stull car, Murphy slowed down while making the turn and was struck in the rear by a car driven by Francis L. Camp, 38, of Route 5, which was heading south on Salem Road.The truck then struck the Sharpe car and the Sharpe vehicle hit the stalled vehicle.Police said a bumper was knocked off the Murphy car and that it flew through the air and struck Stull, who ; was working on his stalledcar.He did not require hospital treatment.
