He didn’t seem hostile.Aleck said he spoke to Hag-gart at the Marion County Jail Friday evening, shortly after the sheriff and three other Michigan law enforcement officials arrived in Tennessee.Haggart, 31, signed extradition papers Friday.Marion Countv authorities*said. Aleck said he would accompany Haggart today on the 8NFmile trip to Clare, Mich., from the Tennessee jail where the man had been held since his arrest near Jasper Thursday night.A detective from the Clare County sheriffs department and two from the Michigan State Police crime lab planned to stay in Tennessee to examine the car in which Haggart was arrested and aloaded 38-caliber pistol foundin the car. Haggart was driving a 1980 Buick Le Sabre belonging to one of the victims, his mother-in-law,Vaudrey Post, 42.The others found deadTuesday at the Post home in »rural Farwell were Haggart*s estranged wife, Garnetta Haggart. 23; Garnetta s father, George W. Davis. Haggart's roommate in* Haietown, said Haggart left the town early Monday on a bus headed for Michigan.He said he had some money in the bank up there and was going to buy him a car, Davis said. ”He got back Wednesday night and had him a car.Davis, owner of Glen’s res-taurant, said Haggart “pulled around back of the restaurant and had a few beers. We shot the breeze for awhile. He was feeling pretty good He said all his folks in Michigan were fine.Michigan Department of Corrections officials said Haggart had served a little more than two years of a two-to 10-year prison term for taking indecent liberties with a female. He began the sentence in May 1975 and was paroled in July 1977.Haggart also had been sought by police on bad check charges in a warrant issued in Gratiot Countv. Aleck said.
