Webster is 20 miles south of Houston, seal of the Mossier acceptance Corp., top company of Moss-ler's banking and financial empire.iThe check in question was signed “Lane Powers Mossier’* and. according to previous testimony, had been made out hurriedly at an airline ticket window in Houston as Powers rushed to catch a plane for Miami. Other witnesses had said Powers arrived in Miami about 6 p.m. June 29. Mossier was stabbed to death around 1:45 a m. June 30.
