HOWARD CONE TOBE ELECTROCUTEDON MARCH 11TH iJudge Thomas Re-Sentenc-ed Convicted Murderer Today.—Executive Clemency Only Chance of EscapeHoward Cone, convicted slayer of Roy Tucker, of this county, this afternoon was again formally sentenced to be electrocuted, in conformity to the verdict of the jury which convicted him last summer of the be-heading murder of Tuck-9 • J • %ter at his home in the Dillon community, several miles from town.■The date for electrocution was set for March 11th.Cone’s conviction recently was affirmed by the Supreme Court and a subsequent motion for a re-hearing was denied, making his resentencing the next order of the court.His only recourse now to escape the chair, it is stated, would be executive clemency, a matter which would rest in the hands of Governor Talmadge.The crime for which Cone was convicted was perhaps the most brutal and heinous in the annals of murder in this county, and the case attracted widespread attention.
