Jury deliberates in murder trialPORT WASHINGTON (AP)The jury began deliberations in the rape and murder trial of James A. Duquette Jr. after a prosecutor said during closing arguments the defendant carried a news clipping about the killing as a trophy to remind him of his crimes.This is the defendant’s trophy, and he likes to look at it and read about what he did, District Attorney Sandy Williams said Thursday.wShe also cited testimony of Duquette’s former prison acquaintances who said he told of attacks on girls and bragged that he likedto choke them.”Duquette, 34, formerly of Appleton, is charged with kidnapping,false imprisonment, second-degreesexual assault and first-degree intentional homicide in the death of Tara Kassens, 14, of the town of Cedarburg.The girl’s nude, battered body was discovered July 4, 1987, in a Mequon farm field a few miles from her home, days after her parents reported her missing.
