It is the first of the issues to be decided in the ease of Jacob Nottingham and Maurice A. Craves, executors of D. Edgar Crouse's estate, against .7 a cob Crouse and the many others who chum to be entitled ilt; a share of the residuary estate of. the deceased millionaire. There are other issues besides this one to be decided, and the case'may drag- along for two or three--days, after which a decision will be about all that is necessary before the executors wiy consider that they may safely proceed to distribute the estate.,. ,Theu .Dorothea Edarita Orouse-Tvoisterlitjs- will•' receive - half, ;o£ v.duu is left after the special bequests' are paid, and the cousins will receive the other half.The next step, after this distribution, will be a settlement with the State as to the inheritance tax. and that, too,luts been practically agreed upon, and no witnesses will be called before* Commissioner Bendy unless t he affair take* a very abrupt turn. The State ha* agreed to a compromise, it is said, and the terms are that the Crouse cousins shall pay 5 per cent on the amount of their inheritance and the child will nay but 1 per cent.
