Schools lack funds to update securityLong-range plans to update campus security In the WSU system have been curtailed due to lack of state funding, accordingto Douglas Picht, administrative vice president.Policies which had been approved by the Board of Regents, but are now curtailed, include the creation of a central security office with a director for the WSU system, a security director at each campus, and specially trained security personnel who will wear ordinary clothes with some type of marked jacket or blazer.
