HE ENTERED A PLEA OF GUILTY TO STEALING A NUMBER OF ARTICLES AT THE BLUE RIVER OUTING CLUB HOUSE.IMPLIGATEDSEVERALOTHERSWILLIAM BAXTER ARRESTED— PAY8 FINE AND COSTS.Petty thefts committed at the Blue River Outing Club House last December, caused William Baxter, Jr., aged fifteen years, and Ernest Cushing, aged sixteen years, to be fined $1 and costs to the amount of 110 each, In Acting Judge Elmer Bassett's com I late alst night. Mr. Bassett also gave the two boys a suspended jail sentence of thirty days.The arrests were made yesterday by Chief of Police Marsh and his deputy, James Jackson. They securedinformation some time ago that Baxter and Cushing had stolen a number of articles, such as skillets, knives, forks, pictures and many other things from the club-house. Cushing left town and it wne learned that he had gone to Cincinnati A few days ago he returned and this information reached the police. Yesterday they placed him under arrest and he acknowledged to the thefts.He was given a “sweating out and he implicated Baxter, who Is employed at the Hodell furniture factory. Two other boys were Implicated by Cushing, but they have not yet beenarrested.They were brought before Judge Bassett last night In the Mayor’s office, where they entered pleas of guilty.Wlhen sentence was passed on Cushing he seemed to be indifferent as to whether he got thirty days or thirty years. Baxter seemed to be very sorry for what he had done. Cushing went to jail for eleven days, not having the money to pay hfs One and costB. Baxter had his amount stayed.The sentence hanging over the boys will have to be layed out if they areever again caught violating the laws of the state.
