Area Bank, HRC Reach AgreementA scheduled hearingbefore the Maryland HumanRelations Commission concerning women employees of the Frostburg National Bank was not held yesterday morning when an agreement was reached Thursday night in Baltimore between the commission and the bank.Two present employees, Mrs. Sheila Grove and Mrs. Janice Vought, and a former employee, Mrs Judy Walker, had contended that the bank was discriminatory in passing over them for promotions while promoting male employees.The agreement was presentod yesterdayChamber(Continued From Page IS)move would Ik; to require additional pollution controldevices on existing sources of excess emission. It’s alsomorning to Irving Tranum, who had been designated by the Human Relations Commission as the hearing examiner.In the agreement the bank denies any discrimination and points out more than 60 percent of its employees are women.It also was pointed out yesterday Mrs Vought has been offered the position of head teller at the bank A vacancy has occurred for some time and the bank has delayed filling the vacancy pending the outcome of this alleged discrimination case.Mrs. Walker, who was a party to the action, took a maternity leave some time ago and after toe birth of her baby decided not to return to work, officials said.Stanwood Whiting appeared as attorney for the commission in Frostburg yesterday. Gary G Leasure appeared as attorney for the bank.
