A serious « lifting :»f fray occurred here about four o'clock i this afternoon in Frank Savatsey's saloon. on south side, in which Fred Pieper was stabbed in the left breast just over the heart by Savarsey. Sa-varsey and an obi man named Kelley had words over payment «*t four glasses of beer. Savarsey Jumping mi tin* 'old man for a fight. Pieper took the part of peacemaker, endeavoring to dissuade the irate saloon keeper, vs ho immediately turned upon him and struck him with his fist. The men j clinched and in the scuffle Savarsey received a hlack e\ e. Like a flash in* whipped out a long, narrow blinded pocket knife and struck Pieper. the blade glancing from tin* eighth rib. ranging downward. Tile wound is not lt;considered dangerous by physicians.
